We are back with our third installment of Music Feeds The Soul! This is a benefit concert & silent auction supporting the Westdale Community Lunch and Gift card Program.
This spring’s concert will feature the music of Gabby & Ryk, Hope & Harmony, Tomorrow’s Voices, Chris Bee!
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the church office Monday to Friday 9am-1pm or by e-transfer to [email protected] (Include your name and we will add it to the Guest List).
Donations for the Silent Auction can be dropped off to the church office.
ABOUT OUR PERFORMERS:
GABBY AND RYK
Gabrielle Heidinger (lead vocals, piano) and Ryk Brown (guitars, woodwinds) each studied music at Western University and theology at the Vancouver School of Theology. Both are former professional musicians and are now ministers in the United Church of Canada.
Gabby has her Master of Music degree in vocal performance and worked as an opera singer.
Ryk studied music theory and composition and played lead guitar in several original rock bands.
They are joined by Ryk’s son, Ewan Brown, on bass. Ewan studies music at Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton.
HOPE AND HARMONY
Hope & Harmony (Formerly Singin’ Women) — a choir comprised of homeless women and their allies — is about much more than just making music. For many choristers, it’s a lifeline. Read more here:
TOMORROW’S VOICES
Tomorrow’s Voices is the passion project of a dedicated group who are committed to supporting local youth through music. The after-school children’s programs have brought together trained and talented musicians with a variety of backgrounds from classical music to music therapy to engage youth in the power of music.
CHRIS BEE
Chris is a vocal & instrumental musician, director, performer & arranger specializing in Broadway musical theatre, choral music, vocal pedagogy and conducting.
