Rev. Andy Crowell, Minister:

Andy comes to Westdale with the experience of 25 years of ministry, and an enthusiasm for intellectual honesty, heart-felt faith, and compassion for people (of all ages, conditions, orientations and stations of life). He values the simple everyday gestures of kindness and integrity as containing the DNA for how we can meaningfully live and love in a sometimes cynical and complicated world. Above all Andy values that it is being ‘in community’ that we experience our greatest hope for enabling faith. Drawing from the rich life of the Christian tradition, as well as the gifts of critical thought, art, science and literature, Andy invites all who come into the company of our church to be open to an inner and communal dialogue intended to encourage our journey.

Carol Pickup, Church School Co-ordinator:

Hi. My name is Carol Pickup. I have recently retired from teaching, and miss working with children. I co-ordinate the Westdale United Church School, and this gives me an opportunity to continue to do the work that I love. We have a team of caring adults here at Westdale who are ready, willing, and able to work with the children in our midst. We welcome all children, and appreciate the opportunity to share Bible Stories and faith with them. We want them to know that they are precious in God’s sight, and that his spirit is always with them.

Carolyn Konrad, Office Administrator

Carolyn and her daughter have been members of the Westdale United faith community for several years. Carolyn  provides administration duties in the office. She also oversees rentals. Carolyn’s passion for social justice has taken her to several countries in Latin America, where she has participated in human rights work. She is a welcoming presence, both on the phone and in person.

Joel Watson, Church School Co-ordinator:

Joel has been proud to call Hamilton home for the past 12 years. He has been looking after our church for more than a year, keeping us safe and looking after our facility. Joel finds this a great place to work. He says the people, from the minister to all the staff, renters and congregation members, are ‘exceptionally wonderful’.
