The Board of Trustees is appointed annually by the congregation and is entrusted with the task of managing the congregation’s Assets and administering the Trust Funds. The Board usually meets once or twice a year. Between meetings, the Chair works with the Church Administrator to carry out the financial activities of the Board. There are two subcommittees, the Memorial Committee and the Investment Committee which meet to review the Trust Funds. Over the past two years, the Trustees have been asked to provide significant funds to support major renovations to the church building and to provide additional funding for the ministry and programs of the congregation. The Board also administers the Johns Trust, a house which was given jointly to the congregation and to the McMaster University Chaplaincy Council by Martin Johns. The house is rented to the Ecumenical Chaplain at the University, and dividends generated from the rental, support the Chaplaincy and our congregation’s Christian Learning and Outreach programs.
